At Consultation Works we specialise in community consultation and engagement programs to connect organisations and communities and to encourage communities to get involved in planning for projects that will affect them.
 
Most organisations – public and private – would identify the achievement of organisational goals with community support as a desired outcome. Community consultation and engagement contribute to this outcome by helping organisations better understand the community; understanding how members of the community would be affected by proposals; identifying what both organisations and communities need in terms of input, involvement and support and planning how best to achieve this; creating opportunities for dialogue; building trust; and managing the process.

We offer a specialist service to organisations that need to work effectively with and within communities. Our services cover development, management and implementation of the consultation strategy for the duration of the project, to specialised services that may be needed at different points during the project, including facilitation of workshops and planning meetings. 

Community engagement done early enough in a project, early in the planning phase, provides channels to bring the views of community and other stakeholders into the planning process and ideally leads to an outcome that achieves organisational objectives while also accommodating community concerns.
